Vertebral Biopsy

It is done in patients who have vertebral compression fractures with a high suspicion of infection/malignancy the procedure involves removal of a small bone core using a needle under local anaesthesia and continuous x-ray control. This is not a theopathic procedure it is a diagnostic procedure where the core is further sent to the lab for microbiological and pathological examination.
